Nicole Jeannin

My first memorable fishing experience was with my father thru that I had great interest to the outdoor world, since that time I have spent countless hours in the field with hunting and fishing as a catalyst inspiring young and old to join the outdoor world. While on a youth hunt I called in and shot a 30 lb gobbler since then I have harvested many waterfowl, and turkey. I have participated in several waterfowl calling demonstrations including Missouri State Ducks Unlimited Convention. As in the Video Below Family Fish & Game writting by Nicole

Lifelong Missouri resident
Whitetail deer specialist—over 50 taken
Turkey specialist—over 30 birds taken

I have fished all over the United States including Hawaii and several trips to Canada but I never wanted to hunt anywhere else other than Missouri.  You never know what the next whitetail to enter your area will look like or how many turkeys have roosted near your ground blind.

I’ve been hunting for 15 years.  The first hunting I ever did was with a bow for whitetails.  I learned to get close first and then when it came time to rifle hunt it was almost too easy. I process all my own deer meat and I make the best KC BBQ style deer jerky.  I’ve placed in the top three in several of the local bass tournaments at Smithville lake, Truman lake, and Pomme De Terre lake.  I have turned a lot of people on to night time crappie fishing during both summer and winter.

Ken Kieser

Kenneth L. Kieser started hunting small game before he turned 10. The 54-year-old journalist hunted on the family farm east of St. Joseph, Missouri. Eventually deer populations escalated throughout the Midwest and Kieser started writing. Since he has hunted deer all over the United States and harvested over 40 whitetails, many in Missouri.

“Whitetail deer are a special challenge,” Kieser said. “Big bucks especially require a special skill, plenty of scouting and frankly, a bit of luck. You can determine a pattern for old bucks and sometimes be paid handsomely for your efforts. Or the big boy might make a left turn and leave you sitting in a deer stand, waiting while he is miles away chasing does. He might even walk within range of your stand to be spooked by a hunter’s mistake or human scent. That’s what makes the sport special.”

Kieser’s stories have appeared in a who’s-who of outdoor literature. The award winning writer’s first novel, “Ride the Trail of Death,” a western, will be released by La Frontera Publishing in October.
